Andrew Zimmel

Our Instructor

My name is Andrew Zimmel. My dog training career professionally began in 2017 with Petco animal supplies. Before I was employed, the only thing I knew about dog training was with Upland Bird and Waterfowl Retrieval. However, through my journey with Petco, my dog training has taken a life of its own. Within my first year, I was sent to Texas to complete a dog training mentorship program that has given me both the experience and qualifications to begin teaching other people how to duplicate my skill.

I learned through Petco’s program that reward-based training is the most effective form of training and just a little love can go a long way. As a trainer, I believe that there is no such thing as a bad dog, just a very misunderstood animal. I have learned that a dog’s behavior is almost directly respondent to their current or past interactions with us.

My mission is to help pet parents understand how to communicate with their dogs, and allow our pets to have a safe, alternative way to communicate with us. I believe building a personal relationship with a dog is the surest way to promise results in their progress. My vision is to share that with the people who love animals as much as I do. My years of working with dogs has brought me right back to where I belong: with the people who love them.
